Catleaps 2Bs are the most common clocking monitors, and are only matched by Qnix now after Catleap made the concept more mainstream.
Your situation is nowhere near indicative of most people's results - unless you mean ALL IPS panels, then the numbers become different. We're talking about PCB that can overclock.
Additionally I'd never have a PLS panel over IPS at this stage. The technology isn't uniform matured. 9/10 times you can buy a branded IPS screen, and be happy with it's performance(color gamut, angles, brightness, build quality, and overclocking where applicable etc).
Buying a PLS is still a gamble.
The Achevia Shimian screens are IPS not PLS like Qnix/X-Star. So they most definitely do not use the same panels. The Shimian screens likely use the same LG IPS panel as the Crossovers and Catleaps etc.
The factory may deal in more than one panel. I don't now, who has the monopoly on that at this range of the market? Usually with normal panels it's Samsung or LG.
