If it's legit, looks like a pretty nice deal. You say it's used for a month and the CG add says opened but never used/removed... I'd probably bite if I were going 1155 for gaming.

Ask him to send you a picture of the CPU with his name hand written on some paper.

If its local, just shoot him in the kneecaps if the deal goes raw.

I would have called him a idiot and hung up. This is why I DO NOT deal on craigslist cause there are plenty of shady people like this.

LOL douche bags. I would look for a used 2500K on the BST sections of the tech forums. I have seen plenty around 150$ shipped.

I've purchased several used CPUs with success. I'd try and get one that hasn't been highly OCed, but CPUs are tough and are far less likely than a motherboard or RAM to just die. For a motherboard, a warranty is great, but I feel far less need for one on a CPU.

You can snag one at Microcenter for that price. Isnt there one near Fresno?

EDIT: LOL, no... hmm.. Tigerdirect recently had it for that price.. Keep an eye out.

I also bought a used 2600k last year here at TPU, and it has been perfectly fine, stable and without issue. I admit, I was worried at first, just because I had never bought a used CPU before, but it came looking brand new and it functioned just the same :)

If you find a good deal from someone with good Heat, you'll be set. I hope you find it soon, as you'll enjoy it :toast:

Every CPU I have owned since my E5200 has been used and not one out of around 30-50 ever died or was DOA.

The closest one and still far from Fresno is the one in Silicon Valley
    Ok, thanks.
Oh wow. Like you guys said used CPUs are cheap and look at their Heat. That caught me might getting a used CPU when I have money for my next build.

As long as it wasn't abuse as in LN2 or pushed to its limits in OCing then they will last you forever!

If I have time I'll go to Micro Center. The closest and still far from me is in Silicon Valley, which is like 3-4 hours drive.

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but the nearest MC to you is now in SoCal. The Silicon Valley Microcenter closed a couple months ago- lease issues.
