I-O Data of Japan announced the HDUs-UT line of colorful 2.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD enclosures, which support USB 3.0, and could in the future, support Thunderbolt with the help of an accessory. The HDUs-UT isn't much more than an enclosure with its active component being built into an adapter that plugs into the SATA drive on one end, and USB 3.0 power/data on the other. I-O Data could sell Thunderbolt variants of this adapter in the future. Measuring 81 x 120 x 15 mm (WxDxH), the enclosure weighs about 170 g with a typical HDD. It is available in silver, black, red, and blue brushed aluminum body options.
