Had 2 BSOD while watching youtube in the pass 3 weeks

As the title says, i have no idea why im getting these bsods, it seemed to only happen while youtubing, i was also downloading music. All of this was done by using Google Chrome. I was playing Titanfall ALL DAY without any problems what so ever. I've also got the new 14.3 beta amd drivers installed.

MY computer specs: AMD 1100t
ATI RADEON 7870 2gb GIGABYTE
16GB RAM
CORSAIR HX850 PSU
WINDOWS 7 64bit

It could be a You Tube and driver clash. I'm sure it's a known issue for You Tube to cause crashing. Try another browser and see if that changes things (Firefox?).

run BlueScreenView and take a shot of it and so we can see what fails...

hmm.. thats waht i was thinking, i use to use firefox. Can't remember exactly why i changed.

That's a crashed driver alright! Does it only happen in Firefox but not Chrome? If that's the case, it could be flash player itself since Chrome uses it's own flash player variant where Firefox uses the official plugin.

I've had nothing but issues with the 14.3 beta.

The driver just crashes randomly for no reason i don't even have to be doing anytning on the pc, this was also on a fresh install of windows 8.1 so not down to old driver files that were left over.

14.2 work just fine though not had one single driver crash since installing them

Seems to just be chrome for him. I'd look at reverting back to old AMD drivers, I've heard nothing but bad reviews about the latest 14.3's

I would be inclined to think that it was Chrome. I would try out Firefox using the official Flash plugin to see if it makes a difference. At least that way you can rule flash/chrome out if it happens again in Firefox.

it could be the version of chrome or it's flashplayer plugin that gets the driver to crash. maybe if u can try update both to the newest official version if u already have that try the newest beta if it can be found.

if you wanna keep using Chrome ofc, if not then Firefox :rockout:

i know its kinda off topic, but i just got another BSOD while playing titanfall and this time with an older driver 13.12. I would install 14.2 but i cannot find any trustworthy downloads for it over the net. I will give another attachment, whats caused the crash this time? it happened once already while playing titanfall yesterday, im starting to think it might just be the game, but just to be sure...

EDIT: its giving me an error when i try to upload the screenshot to this post, but the files atikmdag.sys and ntoskrnl.exe are the 2 files that are associated to the crash i just had..

Yep. Not playing nice with Flash. Try a previous driver or the WHQL's.

go back to WHQL and the problem should be solved, latest cat beta's have quite some issues with video. Experienced quite some myself.

download the latest stable drivers, not BETA from game.amd.com

Currently that's Catalyst 13.12. You've downloaded beta drivers and beta drives aren't known for stability and problem-free behavior.

yeah i just installed 13.12, and was just playing titanfall and just got a bsod. I've had my computer on for more than 5 hours though, just thought i would say that but i doubt it means anything.

BSOD's aren't supposed to happen

but they could be related to a lot of things, maybe your memory on the motherboard is giving out.

i was seriously hoping that it is not hardware related, but im trying out other games like battlefield 4 and thief, just to make sure its not just titanfall. A gfame can cause BSODS like im having right now right?

Games "can" but it's not likely.

My problems completely disappeared after I swapped out my mobo and CPU. I did a complete re-install before upgrading the motherboard and it slightly lessened my BSOD issues at that time.

Now upgraded to a Z87+4670K and I've had 0 BSOD's so far.
My issues before:

BSOD's while watching video (YouTube or local files)
Random hangs & BSODs while playing LoL (no bugsplat errors!)
good stability in GPU dependent games (like War Thunder.)

It might be worth checking if your card works fine on another motherboard.
