Upgrading from GTX 470 SC

Hey Guys,

I want to upgrade my Graphics Card (EVGA 470 GTX) to MSI Lightning R9 290x, is it worth it and will i get significant boost in gaming? especially that my display is a 32 inch Samsung LED TV (HD Ready @ 60Hz)

I'd rather invest the money in a proper monitor. "HD Ready"=1360x768. That's simply awful for a 32 inch panel. Grab yourself a nice 1080p 24 inch monitor and keep hold of your 470 for now.

Without a doubt you will see a difference, in fact, save yourself some money because a GTX 770 or an R9 280X will pretty much double your current performance.

and invest saved money in 24" 1080p monitor or 32" 1080p tv and give old one to the kids

To be honest for the price of a Lightning 290X you could get a 280X and a half decent 24 inch 1080P monitor and gain in every department.
