Okay, just about to order a new H100i for my 4790k (unless you have any other suggestions)

now I know stock the fan comes with a 3pin PWM Y cable to connect 2 fans to the Cooling unit, but how do I go about connecting 4? would I need a further 2 Y cables to daisy chain together?

The unit comes with enough cables/adaptors for you to just get two more fans and instantly use them.

The fans you get with it (which I got with it atleast) are 4 pins, and while some 3 pins will apparently work as 3rd and 4th fan, for software control via de corsair utility you're better off with two 4 pin fans as 3rd and 4th fan.

My mistake, thats perfect.

I noticed it came with one PWM Y cable (which goes to the Cooling Block, so to me that said 2x fans.... where do the other two fans connect to? I was looking at grabbing a pair of SP120 PWM's to go with it

those SP120 PWM's should be perfect:).

Mine came with two of those cables, which I recon is the standard?

Yes two sockets, I just helped a friend install one on his i5 rig. It has two of those splitters with two sockets in case you want to add more fans.

If it's not too much trouble... I have a H50 atm got it when it first came out.. but it was so simple

3pin pwm for the pump and the 2x Molex fans hooked to a fan controller simple....


This one.... if I am right has...

My h100i died, i wish I never bought it, but if you already ordered it or are set on ordering it, the fans it comes with are really nice, they move a lot of air.

I'd buy a high end air cooler instead if I were you, like Phanteks PHTC14PE, Cry Orig R1, Noctua NHD15, Thermalright Silverarrow, etc

The H50 is made by a different mfgr (asetek), I have a similar unit and it has worked for a long time, but my H100i (mfgd by coolit) died after 8 months.

out of warranty for you then? If not corsair generally has a very good support and RMA dept! When my old H100 died i had a brand new H100i in house within a week.

Nah the heatsink metal is damaged from thermal paste. If I can lap it in such a way that it doesn't looked lapped I'd RMA it but I doubt I could pull it off.

I'd still never use the replacement, I don't trust it. If an Aircooler goes bad it still works fine. The only thing that can go bad on an aircooler is a fan.

If h100i goes bad it either spews water everywhere or it overheats your cpu or both.
