hey guys as the title expressed, i have Dominator 2x2GB 1600mhz ram. it oced easily from 1333mhz to 1600mhz at Auto voltage which is now 1.64v Bios. but now i want to go little further to next spot. which is 1867mhz. but when i do it, PC wont boot at all. rebooting infinitely.

i have MSi p67 GD65 board support upto 2133mhz ram.

i need your help, i want to break the wall of 1600mhz. is it possible to break it or not ?? suggestion required

here is a Screenshot of Memory and SDP

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
I see nothing (but perhaps its blocked at my office - I suggest hosting all pics to TPU and not 3rd party).

I am a bit confused though. You say its Dom 1600Mhz, yet you say it OVERCLOCKED from 1333 to 1600Mhz. That would just be its stock speed. Did you raise the voltage? Loosen the timings (I need those pics hosted here to help...)?

Manually set voltage to 1.65v and up the frequency to 1866MHz. Then set memory timings to a standard CAS10 setting (10-10-10-28 or something like that, I can't remember). If that works, then try working down the timings back to 9-9-9-25 one by one. If it doesn't I'd just leave it at 1600MHz.

according to the screen shots the sticks are native 1333 so getting to 1866 may not be possible

Yes, but they run fine at 1600 1.5v. I'd be surprised if the voltage scaling drops of really hard like that.

685 X 2 = 1370 I assume its off because his baseclock has been tweaked

Some can some cant. Upping voltage and adjusting timings might be only way. I heard Dave might be able to help ya get the most out of them. Auto voltage reads the spd normally.

Personally I think the ram that's been on the market for a while is lame in terms of over clocking. You need to get new stuff when it more less comes out to get decent stuff. Just like CPUs and GPUs.. New release stuff generally is better but that's just my opinion.

if you see the part number it sstates as 1600mhz or 800mmhz ram. but by defaullt it automatically chooses 1060 frequency in BIOS. so have to upp manually. to 1333 and 1600mhz. right now at 1600mhz . SDP tab is showing 1.5v but in BIOS the current voltage is shown as 1.64v , its faded color. which is right btw??

1866 will likely require relaxed timings that aren't adjusting, depending on the board. Many times these values are derived for XMP tables, or by automatic profiling within the BIOS. If you need to go higher, you need to manually adjust those settings as well as voltage, in order to facilitate the overclock.

At the same time, when those modules were introduced, Corsair was selling more than just 1600 MHz stuff, so it's possible that the capability has been binned out of those modules, or they have been built it memory chips that just aren't capable of going higher... there were many of those "back in the day".

On the module itself is a label, that will list version number of those sticks. That will identify the ICs that are on the module, and can dictate which timings need to be set to what. Based of the motherboard listed in your profile, that shouldn't be an issue to adjust these, hopefully, but memory controller can also play a role depending on the CPU used, if you have a 2600k or derivative CPU.

The board may support 2133 MHz ram, but you don't have that, you have 1600 MHz, so you need to help the board along, in the least. That's the benefit to buying higher spec'd parts and not relying on OC for performance.

@cadaveca

i understand depending upon timings its normal ram. but with dominator logo. evel though my kingston 4gb 1333 can easily upped to 1600mhz with same timings 9.9.9.24

so do i need to upp or lower the timing i:e CAS10 or CAS8? and what about voltage SDP showing 1.5v but in bios it is 1.64v. i haven't touched it yet, its on auto.
