Z77X- 3770K Air cooled O/C Tips and tricks club.

Hi Everyone.
Just thought I would create a thread for owners of said title combo to get the best out of their O/C.( If there are any of you left that is )
I am running a cool 4.3 right now and thought if we all banded together with some of our settings and results we could all benefit. Posting proof of results is not required but recommended for visual aid. Cpu-z, Real temp, Intel burn test and Aida64 are examples but feel free to use other monitoring tools. Full system specs filled out is a pure bonus as well so all can see Ram/Psu etc. Watercooler O/C'ers are welcome so long as it is a mild cooler like H60 H100 max to be fair (Due to similarities to the best of air coolers). Max O/C's are welcome............. but to be safe for all, stable clocks should be the real goal. Finally Bclk adjustments should only be advised to others with a word of warning for obvious reasons.
P.S. If you are a previous owner of either hardware feel free.

So, is this only for GA Z77 owners with 3770K, or is this more generalized toward 3770k?

At first it was both. But at this point I think it would be fair to include most other boards. I made this thread too close to a cliff I think and if fell off before anyone could save it.

How can you get those temperatures with that voltage and that cooler?
I have the same cooler with better fan, my CPU is delidded, I run it at 4.4GHz, CPU-Z is reporting 1.116V only (thought you shouldn't use it for that), and my temperatures are roughly 70°C.

Working at 4.4 with lower voltage now actually. Single fan on the cooler. May add another to it but only if I must. As I type Im 4.4 @ 1.25 volts IBT hit 88C on core 2. Coolermaster fusion 400 timm. Dropping by .10 increments as I go so should see some better results soon.

OK, here's mine right now. It's on a ASRock Fatality Z68 Pro, Gen 3. BIOS Version 2.20.

I tried lowering the voltage just a smidgen. It didn't crash, but everything moved as if I was back on the first core 2 duo. So, I'm at the lower limit of voltage I think, which means if I want to go beyond 4.1Ghz, I'll need to raise the voltage. But I'm happy with my temps, so I'm not sure I want to do that, LOL.

Still playing around a bit. Re pasted the cooler and cleaned the entire inside of my case. 212's fins were in a rough bit of dirt. Switched the fan out but may switch back after doing some research on cfm.
getting quite the fluctuation between cores at idle 0=33°C 1=30°C 2=27°C 3=29°C idle right now but thinking I should wait for paste to set a bit before IBT again. 4.4 @1.20 volts for now.

As far as safety, I believe under 80 is safe. Personally, I would be a little uncomfortable.

Is it possible that your case( Silent edition) with your card is putting off some inner heat? What thermal paste are you using? My case pulls air into the front with a 200 mm fan, out the top 200mm as well. I have a coolermaster sicleflow 2000 rpm on my evo, also have a bottom mounted psu. My cooler lines perfect with the rear 120mm exhaust as well. My Saph 7870 xt hits 68 under load in the valley bench @ 1200/1500. And lastly I spent a stupid amount of time managing my cables. Hmmmmm how to take a pic to upload? gotta find the right cable for the cam.
Can you share some screnes and maybe an inner case pic?

Crap double posting all over the place!
Honestly? Thinking I'm getting lucky here. I switched out the original evo fan for a sickleflow and cleaned all my parts till they were next to new. I made a terrible mess with the previous thermal compound so I made sure to use a lot less this time. Turbo is off of course set to 1.20 volts @ 4.4 and let it run. I'll pop back into the bios and see if I missed some setting I'm not mentioning.
