Has anyone heard of these things dying? I'm idling between 58-70, and burn temps are 100+!!!
I cleaned the radiator and re-pasted it about 3 months ago, and it wasn't even close to being clogged in any way. I noticed the temp creeping up over the last 6 months or so, so I have the power manager in Win7 limit it to 85% power. It keeps the clocks just under 3GHz (stock is 3.3). This helped a great deal.
Fans are pointing the correct direction. Antec 900 with plenty of ventilation.
I will reinstall my old A50 to see if the pump has gone out, but was looking to see if anyone had dealt with Corsair on RMAs.
H70 is about 2 years old.

Make sure your motherboard isnt flexing. Also get a temp gun and shoot it a few times.

Indeed, it's dead. I tried moving it around to see if there was a bubble or something causing crappy pump performance. No good.
Just bolted in my A50 and I'm idling around 31. Encoding the same movie I was last night, and the hottest core tapped 53C. The others are 44-48.
Problem solved.
Thanks to both of you!

you can always replace the pump with a inline model

I'll stick to the air til I pull it all apart in a few months. $70 is a lot to repair an $80 item.
I'm trying to find a better SLI board in the coming months. My 780s are slapped so close together, the top card's peaking at 80, while the bottom is a chilly 58-60ish. I'm gonna check out the classifieds section here and a few other forums to find a decent one.

CLCs in general are not good. Too many pump failures .. and only a couple years of half-dependable life.

I'll be staying with air.

Air is quieter, cooler, cost less and are more dependable. Only thing that can wear out is fans, which are easily replaced and most systems will still run even without the fan. Worst case having to rubber band a case fan on until suitable replacement arrives.

I'm hearing good things about the new Swiftech H220x, but it's also more expensive for marginally better cooling.

Custom loops are great, but many times the cost of top air and require regular maintenance.

The only bad thing about the insane size of the a50 is that it butts up against the side case fan. I'm getting a new MSI Big Bang mobo in a few days to replace my P6X58D-E and allow for more space between my 780s. My top card is hitting its 80C threshold (so the clocks start dialing back) but the bottom card's chilling in the mid to high 50s. Both are ACX EVGA models not crappy reference coolers.

BTW, why does it still say I'm a "new member" even though I registered 2+ years ago?

X58 motherboards are getting harder and harder to find. It's too bad because the hexa-core chips are still great performers.

I suspect the "new member" has something to do with post count. ;)
