Looking to put 8 more gigs of ram in my rig and got a really good offer on to 4Gb modules of Vengeance ram.
These modules are of the same production line as the ones i have, but these ones can run at 1866MHz and on CL9

I'm fairly certain I can plug these two together to run at 1600 CL9, but I would really like some feedback.
Memory is not exactly my strongest point.

just clock them to 1600 CL8. 1866 CL9 is very similar in response time to 1600 CL8

But I can set them both to CL9 if i get stability issues, right?

i use 1600 cl8 and very like it, i think, i even can feel the deference in system responsiveness between cl8 and cl9.

Yes if it is stable at 1866 CL9 it should be stable at 1600 CL9. It might also be selectable as an XMP profile.

As others are mentioning CL8, theres not going to be much difference between them so I wouldn't bother.

Rather, you could try running your current stick at 1866 CL9 to match the new one. However, If you are running 4x sticks, you may not reach the same speeds as just running 2x sticks.
For example my Samsung Green can run at 2200 CL11 but if I run 4x sticks I can only run to 1866 without overvolting beyond 1.5v.

Its probably best to just run 1600 CL9 for the least amount of hassle.

I have 2X4 GB DDR3 1600 CL9, would i notice any difference with a 2x4GB DDR3 1600 CL8 kit? Its only 80 euro but I guess the small difference its not worth the price.

Not unless you're into benchmarking.

You might be able to get them both running at 1866C9. If you can, do that.
