Hello guys.
I want to upgrade from my gtx 760, to better gpu.
I know that 2x 970 is cheaper than 980, but not in my country.
In Poland, I can buy single 980 for 2500pln, and 2x970 for 3000, wich is kinda a difference. And last question, will my pc handle sli from gtx970?
CPU: intel i7 3770k

PSU is capable, but you are cutting it a little too close for my liking.
2 x 970 @ 180W is 360W, plus your 100W CPU is 460W, plus whatever else you got going on, we're looking at 500W total drawn power. There would be zero room for overclocking. Like, none at all.
Besides that, while two 970's appear to be great value, you wouldn't see the performance gain on 1080p (assuming that's your resolution). You'd literally be paying for frames you'd never see.

first of all prices a little too high in Poland and Lithuania (Litva) i would wait a bit. it should be about 2500-2600 for sli 970 soon. yes your MB supports sli
edit: yes what Rcoon said.
1080p no need for 2x970.

So for now, instead of buying 2x gtx 970, its better to buy one gtx980, for 1080p? And maybe later, add other 980 for sli when single will lack of performance?

i vote for one 980, i have a sli of gtx 770s (pny xlr8 Enthusiast Edition, one of the best gtx 770) , in benchmaks and some games my ring is more powerfull than a 980 but is not that beautiful, euro track simulator 2,asseto corsa and watch dogs worst performace sli than one gtx 770, witcher 2 more or less same performace, on the other hand crysis 3 and tomb raider almost double performance. So.. less trouble one single powerfull card, if you go for sli you have to do the maths for if your psu is enought, i have 850w psu for my sli, is true 970 have less tdp but you have to calculate if 550w is enought,12v amperage is the important thing to look.

It's better to buy one 970 for 1080p if I'm completely honest  But yes, if you can afford it, buy the best single GPU in your budget.

I think a single GTX 970 is plenty for 1080p. Probably by the time it's underpowered there will be some other card that will be more powerful for the same price and more than you will need until perhaps the next generation of consoles.

actually, 980 is overkill for 1080p. unless you have 120 hertz. monitor or so.

Is your 760 not enough anymore? your current card can still play what you are playing now, just hold on to your cards.

But if you really want to upgrade, then get 980 and 1440p or even 4k monitor. and then get 980 again. But make sure to upgrade your PSU one you go 980 SLI or even 970 SLI

Also, until 1440p screen is bought single GTX 980 is good candidate for using DSR at 1080p

980 isn't good solution for Baltic coutries. price performance is much more important here.(unless money not an issue). so 2x970 is better recommendation for 1440p. i personally dont get price performance of 980! absolutelly terrible and was thinking nobody will choose it over 970 (970sli). well anyway thats IMHO

Price isnt really an issue, i gathered money since i bought 760, wich was when it came out. I just was considering buying now sli, or single 980, and later add other one. But that in the future. So 980, but from wich vendor? I really like EVGA, but i heard that MSI and Asus, with their half-passive coolers are better.

other option is buy other 760 for sli and wait 1 year for 20nm gpus, this could be the best cost/performance solution because you actually have a 760 and 760 price drop, but i suppose your 760 is 2gb and that is a limitation for some games, watch dogs for example, not big issue but it is.

i am getting a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4gb tomorrow i hope, and i am running 2560x1440@120hz, i don't think it's worth it for me spending like 342USD more to get a GTX 980 to be honest...

Depends what games you play, I've had no problems, even with a second monitor for side windows.
