Hi,

Am really tight on budget here and I found a used Asus with these specs:

Asus A53SV

i7 2630 2GHz processor
6GB ram
Nvidia Geforce GT 540M - CUDA - 2GB

I checked notebookcheck.net and saw that gt 540m is a mid class card.

I am here to ask your ideas guys about that Notebook ability to run battlefield 3 without AA on high and battlefield 4 on low and overall general performance?

P.s. am not interested in playing next gen games.

Thanks.

I have an old Dell laptop with a GT 550 and it barely plays Bad Company 2 on low settings.
I would doubt the 540 would play BF3 or BF4 at all.

i would have to agree. I use a lenovo with two gt 650s and it only handles medium settings in both games. one card will not cut it.

It will depend on the resolution of course as at 720P I would believe it could handle BF3 at medium to low settings while on BF4 only low.

Hi. On what resolution were you playing bf3?

Am aiming at 1366x 768 or lower.

Guys aren't bf3 and bf4 more cpu dependant? That notebook packs an i7 so i am wondering would not that help improve performance?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Gentlemen... all of you, lol, I posted a link to how fast it is...there is no guessing needed here for BF3. BF4 is slightly more tough on a GPU so it will be worse.

The CPU will help a little with the low resolution, but... what you see is what you get on the benchmark as they are using a CPU too...

Well, according to the link EarthDog provided your GPU is #243 and they are saying that BF3 at 1024X768 averaged 35.75 FPS at 1366X768 it averaged 23.35 FPS so I would say it would be a bad experience.
