A question about samsung magician

On the main page where "Disk Drive" title is; I see under "System information" it states "OS Optimization" with a ? by it. Underneath it states "Not Configured". Underneath that it states, "Your OS is currently optimized for use with an HDD. You can optimize it for use with a SSD via the OS Optimization menu."

Do i need to set anything in there as there are presets for

Max Perf
Max Capacity
Max Reliability
Advanced

I have a Samsung XP941, which is not compatible with the software. However, the settings you're talking about usually refer to the type of caching that's done. Max performance enables some extra caching, but you may lose data if the power is lost since the data is in cache. Max reliability probably turns the caching off. I'm not sure about max capacity, but I'm guessing it turns down the overprovisioning (some drive will let you do this).

No, if you set it to performance it increases the size of your page file

I have an 840 and i don't even bother with the samsung software.

I manualy disable things that are not needed and setup my pagefile and stuff to how i want it and leave it at that.

Personly i find the samsung software causes issues with some of my games, i will load a game up and it minimises to taskbar and won't do anything untill i close down the samsung software.

The only time i will use the software now is when new firmware comes out.
