Hey guys it's been a while since I've made a post and I've came back one question for y'all, especially memory nuts.

I wanna know if I buy a new DDR4 kit rated for 3200+ MHz I'll get that frequency or it could be not possible because my CPU IMC could not be strong enough.

I know this was true for SB-E and IVB-E so maybe it could be the same thing for HSW-E and I could maybe avoid buying a new DDR4 kit for nothing.

Thank you guys :toast:

I found the answer I was looking for in this review :
http://www.legitreviews.com/corsair-dominator-platinum-16gb-3300mhz-ddr4_152177/7

they had a 5960X that couldn't handle the 3300 MHz speed so it's basically luck of the draw on the IMC of Haswell-E, which pretty much emulates what we know about x79 SBE/IVBE

Thank you guys anyway :toast:

Hope this bit of info helps someone else too.

I'll be sticking with my current memory and tight timings which has proven to be almost better than high frequencies anyway.
