My silverstone psu is acting up... should I RMA it?

You can't trust software readings.

That's from an old motherboard I had, my current motherboard gives essentially the same readings.

What error codes are you getting? I usually use this program to view BSODs because it's simple.

bsod usually related to ram so check your ram first

LOL, I get 12v readings just lik that on my server! I figured out like you did after awhile it's just a false reading.

It just keeps rebooting. The error msgs don't make any sense. Also the same voltage readings are in bios. I can only guess at maybe my x-fi titanium, which I've pulled to see if it crashes again.
This is a fresh install of win7, everything up to date. Hoping I don't have to go back to onboard sound if that's the case.

First, try another PSU...

While you have the old one pulled... get out the meter/scope and test it.
If it does not fall under specs... RMA it.

Silverstone actually claims a tighter 3% tolerance on the 3.3V, 5V, and 12V rails.

3.3V - 3.201 - 3.399
5V - 4.85 - 5.15
12V - 11.64 - 12.36

My silverstone used to be just over 12v, but it's degraded over the years I guess. Techie's intuition... I pulled my x-fi card, reinstalled windows, and it seems to be stable again.
Every time a creative card fails on me, it creates havoc on the system. Funny thing is, even after I pulled it, I was trying to uninstall the creative crap, and it bluescreened....
I said f it and pulled out my install flash drive.... crossing my fingers it holds out until cheque day.

What are the actual blue screen error messages, my guess is display driver error and a time out.
Update Graphics drivers and see if that helps.

check it with a multimeter if you wanna know if the sensors are close,that won't tell you if the psu is bad unless the voltage is doing some weird shit

Your thread title is misleading as you have self diagnosed the fault as your PSU without asking for help with the error messages.
Others have come in with suggestions based on what you tell them regarding your power supply.
There are a multitude of reasons for blue screens and crashes, sharing those blue screen codes with us will help us to assist you.

It's a hardware issue, and I knew it. It came down to my bloody logitech peice of crap mouse. I started moving everything over to my server board, all was going well.
Until I plugged in the dam g700s mouse, it wouldn't fire. Currently back to my main box using an old dell mouse, stable again. Sometimes this shit isn't so easy to diagnose.
None of the bluescreen dumps pertained to this, so it would of been pointless for me to post them. Trust me, 20 years of being a techie, sometimes I just know shit, but
have to bounce ideas around with other techies so I can get it straight. My power supply has degraded as well, so I will be buying a new Seasonic gold rated for a backup.
And I'll never spend another dime on a bloody logitech product again.... 100s and 100s on their dam mice, and this is what I get.

Yep, I'm done with logitech and creative. My system is stable again, for now. Time to look for a nice lightly used SB-E system.

Why not? Can't afford Haswell-e, and even sb-e would be a good step up from what I have. I don't pay more than 200 for a mobo and 200 for a cpu....

X79 is relatively old tech. Few will actually use the additional memory bandwidth over 1155/1150.

Yes, I like the high end stuff, just have to wait for used that's cheap enough. In the end, I've determined it was my psu. Moved my ram and hds over to my
P6T mobo and ancient BFG psu with quad rails.... need to use 3 to power my 480... my G700s mouse is toast I think, and my 64gig flash drive. My P6T won't
fire if either are plugged in now. I should of taken my own advice in the beginning and consider my psu done and don't use it any more.....

Need suggestions for a 750 watt gold at a decent price.... decent, not 200 bucks. I've seen Seasonics for 120ish with taxes ect maybe 150. Ncix.com is all I can buy from.
I'm trying to pull for a good sale, but I have to order one next week and get my main box back up, this is bs.....
