Catalyst CPU Power

It seems that AMD has removed cpu power from Omega driver. It was the easiest way to lower CPU clock speed. I haven't yet tested beta driver 15.3 does anyone know is this option coming back. Thank you all in advance.

It was in 15.3's when I installed them. Although I never use the option myself.

What about bios settings I think CnQ needs to be on as well as the C states not AMD APM

Bios settings are oky i tried to restart AMD Fuel Service under services but its gone.

Is software ("in-OS") cpu clocking any good? I tend to rely on bios for that kind of stuff, but if it can be safely set on windows nowadays, I could save myself some reboots...

I tried it for giggles but I don't know if it actually works right. I had my 8350 up to 5.3 with the cpu power thingy. Core temp said it was at 5.3 but cpu-z said no it wasn't. it was still at 4.4.

Also temps didn't raise hardly any if at all under full load between 4.4 and 5.3.

Alternatively for Windows 7(And perhaps others):
Power management > Power profile > Advanced power settings > Processor power management > Maximum processor state.

When i assembled my system i had to wait for the cooler to arrive so i used the stock cooler for a day and temps were not that good so i used cpu power and set it to 3,4. It helped.

Hi! I have a little bit similar problem. Previously, power management processor was in megahertz. Now a percentage. And everything would be fine, but after a sleep mode current settings as a percentage stop working, although shown as active, but the CPU running at full. I reinstalled omega 14.12, Catalyst 15.7.1 \ 15.4beta, AMD Overdrive, used DisplayDriverUninstaller in safemode - no effect. Any idea how to get control in megahertz?

its the same setting thats available in windows power management stuff, just control it there.

check CPU-Z at idle and load.

Could be that E-450 is so slow it doesn't really make much of a difference if it runs at 800MHz or 1600MHz XD

I can do this, but the Catalyst Control Center has the ability to use hot keys, which for me is very important. That is why it is important to me be able to operate as before the power of the processor in mhz through the Catalyst CC with hot keys.
