I'm just very curious about the game. And I've seen some pages, and Googled it. When I saw it, I wanted to check source code too. Then I found just like on the image.

Now I want to think that how can my computer allow to me to play this game? :)

Well it's safe to say it's using Frostbite so if you can play Battlefield you should be able to play Battlefront. But again lets hope they don't share alot of similarities...I won't pay for a BF Re-skin!

I guess they decided to start up LucusArts again? The last news I heard about them was about shutting down.

Disney has laid off the staff of LucasArts and cancelled all current projects.

Staff were informed of the shutdown this morning, according to a reliable Kotaku source. Some 150 people were laid off, and both of the studio's current projects—Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313—were cancelled. Disney will still use the LucasArts name to license games, but the studio is no more.

Publicly, Disney is saying their current games could be licensed out to a different publisher or developer, but according to our source, that's unlikely. Our source says Lucas has pursued the option for "one or both games," but nothing happened. "With the teams now basically being dispersed I think both games are effectively dead forever," our source said.

A second source also told Kotaku this afternoon that the chances of Lucas licensing out 1313 are very slim. The odds are "effectively zero," the source said.

“After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games," LucasArts parent company LucasFilm said in a statement. "As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.”

I don't think Battlefront will be a re-skin of BF4. I think all the DICE devs are big starwars fans and will put a lot of passion into creating the new Battlefront game. It seems that way from a DICE video talking about the development I saw a while back.

Well, what you expect? I think they are developing different game, and this will be good. Of course if they do not release early access. :)

But it could be worth it  (if dice does it right ofc)

It's possible this might be the first game using a new frostbite engine that's not a Battlefield game. This is a big enough title to do so. Either way I doubt it will be just the Frostbite 3 engine. They will probably call it Frostbite 3.5 or something, but I think it will be Frostbite 4.

Hope so !

As much as I think DICE/EA are going balls this one up badly, I don't think they will. Quite frankly, I don't think they can afford to botch up this game. Disney are taking a pretty hardcore stance on their IP these days, they take no prisoners. I wouldn't be surprised if the game is being vetted every step of the way by Disney Quality Assurance employees or something. These last few months/year, Disney have been like attack dogs, and guard the Star Wars IP, to the point that they demanded JJ Abrams despite him saying no to directorship in the first place. Nobody wants to mess with them, and I think EA probably knows it.

Are DICE capable of screwing up this release? Absolutely. Will Disney allow something crappy to come out? Maybe, but they're going to thrash whoever is responsible. It's more likely the game is set to be complete months before the release date of November, in fact it's probably almost finished. The last few months will be spent passing Q&A.

What DICE has churned out over the last couple of years has been garbage, so I look forward to the day they produce something that's being requisitioned by someone higher in the world than EA, and Disney are that company.

The only saving grace I have for this game is that Dice made 2142. I want 2143, but I'll take a new battlefront game to tide me over. If this is done right this could ellipse battlefield and be Dice's number 1 game. The battlefield concept should mesh well with Star Wars, and give Dice the edge to out sale COD. I'm not saying they would stop making BF games.. That would be crazy, because the name is already there.

What you say makes sense. We all know that it was EA pressuring Dice to hurry up with their games and even release them unfinished and unpolished just like with their other developers and you're right about Disney also. They are over 10 times the size of EA and should be able to slap their wrist if they try their "business as usual" tactics. We'll see but I feel positive about this game so far.

After BF4 I'm not to excited about this one. Especially after playing GTAV.
Yea, but we will be bored with GTA V by November.. lol They should get Rockstar to do the story or even rocksteady.

Probably but after playing Dying Light and GTAV and how flawless they ran and were supported during their deployment I'm pretty jaded on SW:BF.
