AMD has rolled out a new update for my video card. Should I remove the old drivers/catalyst first then install the new version or simply upgrade?

It's been awhile since I perform an upgrade and I forgot the proper steps.

It's becoming less and less necessary. As a point of routine, I always run a driver cleanup first when dealing with AMD drivers. NVidia's cleanup seems to work just fine so I stuck with it. As for AMD's driver overwriting I'm not sure, haven't used on since the 7xxx series.

I'm lazy, have not done a "clean" uninstall for the last 2 releases, just overwrote, luckily no issues or problems for me.

I usually just uninstall them, and install the new ones. But I'm still on the 14.4 version

9/10 times I do just an overwrite without issues. Have not had a problem updating drivers in a long time doing it that way and the driver I currently have is the latest Beta with no issues to report.

I guess I'm going to try a clean uninstall and install the newer version afterwards. Quick question. Is it safe to use GURU3D utility?
