Could anyone recommend me decent gaming news site which doesn't publish tens of useless articles (like someone heard a rumour about someone whose brother might be involved in development of XYZ) each day, and where I wouldn't find any traces of any japanese crap (I simply despite anything and everything related to asian entertainment - and let's not discuss this please)?

I too like Kotaku and Polygon. Polygon has a few "journalists/writers" that I don't much care for due to bad facts/lazy writing and "clickbaity" headlines. I like Kotaku because they don't take themselves too seriously.

I think it's a difficult question.

Personally I'm using 'high-low' mix:
- PCGamer : lots of articles and commenters (lots of rubbish too). You'll have to sort it yourself but it'll give you quick glimpse of what's going on today.
- Polygon: higher quality articles and more mature commenters (to some degree), but has fewer articles and it has been smeared with pop culture things.

You could use service like feedly to make things even faster.

I like Kotaku because they don't take themselves too seriously.
Unless their 'journalist' status is being challenged xD

Anyway Kotaku has broad topics and lots of Asian content (it's in their slogan), I don't think OP like that.

I've gone to bluesnews.com every since it started back in 1995 when I was in college. Here and Bluesnews are really the only ones I hit on a daily basis.

I like the colors of the site you can change it on the left side to retro, but I like the original colors. He tried to change it up awhile back, but nobody liked it and he changed it back. The thing I like the most about it is that it doesn't have a bunch of pictures taking up way to much space like most of the new gaming sites. You see something you like click on it and then see the content. Oh and now I've added a new hipster site to my must check list NextPowerUp.com and now for games I check our gaming section for @RCoon 's game reviews. :toast:

Oh and here are some stuff people have said about Bluesnews.com. Ok that's enough promotion from me.. before our spam bot sniffer boots me to the curb.. lol

Ah, NPU. I never really paid attention to it because I have absolutely no interest in mobile phones, but decent game reviews? Why not. I can't find any categories in the menu bar though, and I am really only interested in checking the gaming section out. Looks like the site could use some tweaking. There don't seem to be any RSS feeds either. Guess that's what makes it hipster? :p

Will move those issues onto W1z, we're constantly updating the backend. I agree though, would be nice to filter specific news types, though there is a search function at the top.
I never bothered checking NPU personally because there wasn't much relevant PC gaming news. I am hoping to change that, but there are only so many hours in the day when you're doing one full time network job and two part time website jobs :D

Reviews are up every Thursday at 12:30 GMT, and an article detailing all highlighted releases and game sales/deals as well as interviews and future reviews is up every Saturday called Next Week in Gaming.

I do the occasional editorial (but they need work, because my editorial writing quality is not up to scratch), and a few first impression articles for stuff on Early Access (e.g. Killing Floor 2 early access)

Sadly I don't have enough time to post enough PC related content to make it worth your while checking the site daily, at this stage I only really check NPU once every few days myself. Just being honest :p Hopefully we can improve in future with some hard work.

Yeah, I just heard about the site and checking it out now. Kinda hard for me to read, so I just go to their RSS link.

I tend to stick with this one : http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/j9qz9m/the-witcher-3--wild-hunt-review

Wile that link takes you to game trailers, it also opens up something that i just watched 40 seconds ago. Yes i pissed myself. I have urine in my pants.

I take it all back! Here on forum i said that Witcher 3 did not want to put up a fight back in 2014 december along side Dragon Age Inquisition (this one winning the game of the year). I bite my tongue! It wipes the floor with Inquisition o_O Witcher 3: "Best rpg ever made"

I wonder what space ship do you need to have in order to max out the graphics for this visual wonder

I dunno why people keep wanting to find mysterious reasons for Witcher 3 being twice delayed. CDPR have told us why, which is something every game studio who works for a publisher wishes they could do.

They have said the delay is to do the absolute best to deliver as fine a game as possible. To try to find as many bugs as possible and to polish it up.

These are completely believable reasons if you know CDPR's history with release of Witcher and Witcher 2.

Well the usually recommended websites for gaming are GameSpot and IGN but since GameSpot started going to crap over the last 2 years and got rid of one of my favorite shows on there I really have stopped going to the site or any gaming news site. Still if I was going to use one those would be the first two I check. However since things change and they did for me I now check YouTube reviews from sources other than GameSpot and IGN and live Twitch streams to see more about games. I definitely recommend you do this too.

If anyone's interested, here's how they stack up regarding views per month.

http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/video-game-websites

I used to visit FileFront (now GameFront) daily. Also tried GameSpot, GameFAQs and Giant Bomb, but didn't stay with them. I left FileFront when it started getting too cliquish. You know, when the younger, post happy kids started getting mod positions. I don't mean just posting a lot, but steering threads their way and influencing others to do the same. If you didn't like what they were into, you'd get ignored or trolled on. I kinda switched from FileFront to GameTrailers because they used to have fairly decent game reviews, but I don't spend much time there anymore. The staff and membership just aren't as mature and intelligent as they used to be, and the kinda trolling mentioned above is getting worse. Only difference is it comes from members, not mods.

I always found it odd that two of the more popular sites, GameFAQs and GameSpot, technically share forum databases, but the two have member bases that don't seem to get along. I don't think it's worth surfing their forums anymore anyways. They've never been very well structured and have devolved into overly simplistic message boards with little activity that get archived and locked quickly.

I've used GamesRadar before for videos. They'll often have content I'm looking for in certain games that others don't. In general I don't consider any of the more mainstream game sites as particularly good places to chat, but they can be good places to get game info quick without clicking through baity ads if you use their forums instead of their news section.

I don't really visit game forums much besides this one and ArsTechnica. I like the maturity of these two sites. Take IGN for example, they have sometimes thousands and thousands of responses to an article and most of them are just fluff. Who has time to sort through all of that mess?

I was a log time fan of Gamespot but I think IGN has passed them. I still like both.
