I'm considering wich is better Bequiet system power 7 80 plus silver (cheaper in my country) or pure power l8 80 plus bronze? Im planning to buy 500w and i want silet power supply. I have no choise in power supply segment, i can buy Corsair cx500 but i think be quiet is better in terms of noise levels.(sorry bad english)

do you think the Be Quiet unit is quieter because of the name? Also its Corsair not Crosshair.

CX500 are not particularly desirable PSU's. They are absolute budget units.

You got a budget in mind?

Corsair CX units are terribly overpriced for what they are IMO. If you have a link to the store you're looking at we could take a look and see if we find something priceworthy.

I dont understand everyone's beef against CX units. I have had a CX430 running ny file server/cruncher for a year now with no issue. If you are on an extremely tight budget I think they are fine power supplies if you need a low wattage one. Granted if you need a 500w+ PSU, I would be looking elsewhere.

It's not a beef, it's just that you - here - can get better units for a lower price. The cheapest CX is more than decent Antecs, Cooler Masters, FSP's, Corsair VS's, Be Quiets... They're rarely worth it. The first CX (at least the CX400 iirc) were great, and now they cost more just because they have the Corsair sticker on them.

+1

CX units are not Tier 1, but they are plenty serviceable for the price.

Ok, wich one? system power 7(cheaper and 80 plus silver) or pure power l8(80 plus bronze)?

That should be a pretty obvious choice. Silver.

it doesn't matter how quiet the PSU is if the rest of the system sounds the turbo on a mac truck then the point is moot

and most power supplies these days you will never hear them anyways. There's always something else in the system that is louder.

Firstly it is nice to see one more guy from Lithuania in TPU forums :)

CX500 is really good choice. Also Chieftec and FSP (not OEM when we talking about silence) is always good choice when we are talking about budget products

Sekmės ;)

I heard alot people have problems with cx psu series,These psu are made from cheap parts. But i guess all budget psu's are made from cheap parts :D. I saw alot of positive rewiews about antec vp-450, but its to weak for my gtx 970. I think i will go with bequiet system power 7.

Cheiftec is a good choice? That has to be the first time I have ever heard anyone say that... A lot of Cheiftec PSUs are better at sending smoke signals then they are powering a PC. ;)

As far as a 450W PSU being too weak to power your 970... that depends. If you are running an Intel CPU and a 970. It will be fine even with some overclocking. I mena a 4790K is an 88W CPU while the 970 is a 150W GPU. That is 233W. Add 70W for the rest of your goodies, and you can see that still falls well under 400W.

I know that 450w is too low. Im searching good 500w power supply around 70 euros. And i using old gen i5 2500k
