Help choosing Alienware 15 Laptop

I don't know if I am posting this in the right section but I need your help my fellow forum members.

I have a dilemma can anyone help me out here?
I have the Alienware 15 on order ..2. one is the

Alienware 15

8gb mem ddr 1600
1tb hdd
1080p non touch screen
gtx 965m 2gb gpu

the other
Alienware15

core i7 4710hq
16gb mem ddr3 1600
128ssd operating sys...1tb hdd storage
1080p touch screen
gtx970m 3gb gpu

Which do I keep? I still have time to cancel either one...Is it worth it to keep the stronger of the two? Its almost $600 difference.

This will be my gaming machine for at least 3 years. I currently have an a10 5600k hd7730 trinity laptop and it cant do anything but for the price I paid it was well worth it. Funny thing is the lessor of the 2 systems i listed is around the same price I paid. Now I am not really a big pc gamer but I want a capable machine. I currently play bf4, tomb raider, mkx, dmc, mk9, crysis 3 and street fighter on my pc. I would like to have a capable machine though. I also have a 2015 xps13 which will use for my music/dj'n so this machine...I wanted to be real potent. Sorry for the rambling but I'm ecstatic at the pricing that I received these for because I was going to by a Sager but I couldn't resist these prices.

So all in all
Gaming
Web surfing
Movie watching
Streaming

If you can afford it go for the higher spec'd unit.
Personally I would prefer to build a desk top system but I understand some people prefer a laptop.

Wow, you are lucky, such cheap gaming laptops!!
The prices are much higher in Europe.

I'd go for the $1276 one or one with a 980M if you can afford it

Always get the best parts that you can afford. Settle for low price, for dedicated use. For your daily driver, spare nothing or you will regret it inside of 2 years!

I have a monster of a pc lol, in fact 2... just look at my sig, and I have since upgraded some more components.

I did an I really thought long and hard about it but the thickness really wont bother me in the alienware but i don't want it to be monstrous so to speak. I cant remember the model I saw but it kind of reminded me of the Razer Blade. If you know which model is that please let me know!?

personally I would look at MSI or Asus gaming laptops. If you are serious about the alienware then compare to the dell gaming laptops, pretty much the same since dell bought alienware.

i currently have the Alienware 13, it is definitely not the same built machine of yester-years. The new designs are actually really nice and not that bulky at all...and as much i like other laptops, i have a portable xps 13 2015 model.

the blade is nice but too expensive for what is being offered. I can get a Sager for that price with a 4k screen n dual 970s and some other upgrade and quite possibly still have money left over. I just can't remember the Sager that was just as thin.

On the Sager site they only list single GTX 970 in their systems, I think the thinnest design is the 8651

Thanks to all that replied. I had a bit of misfortune so to speak with the option I chose, which was to take the AW15. Dell screwed up...installing the OS on the 1tb 5400rpm drive instead of on the 128gb SSD...regular screen instead of the touch screen. To make things worse the charge port on the laptop was not working properly. I'm not one to get real agitated or what have you so I gave them a ring...and told them of my situation. When all was said and done I was given the following upgrades 1tb 7200rpm drive, 256gb SSD, and the best possibly news I could ever want to imagine...an upgrade to the GTX980M(from 970).

I was upset at the problems I was having but all in all, Dell went above and beyond in making up for everything.
