Need Advice on this Gaming Build

I have this build and a few concerns. I want a cool case, so I went with the NZXT instead of a 300R.

1) Should I pay the extra $40 for a 840 EVO instead of a 850 EVO?
2) Will my graphic card fit in a mid tower case?
3) Will my CPU cooler fit in the case?

If you have any other suggestions, let me know!

Personally would suggest finding an MX100, they are usually ~15% cheaper than the 850 EVOs

THIS (That said the 212 EVO comes with pretty good paste, but you might want to keep a big tube handy regardless...)

550 is enough

My go-to on Z97 is the Asus Z97-A or Z97-AR. Asus has the best BIOS and software in my experience and those boards are good quality and have a complete but not excessive feature set. Other good options I would suggest looking at are the MSi Z97 SLI Krait, Z97 Gaming 3, and ASRock Z97 Extreme 4. I'd avoid any of the Gigabyte ones with 4 VRM phases as the mosfets they use on their 9 series are crap. (their Z87 ones were great ._.)

OP is listing a aftermarket option for a thermalpaste, despite he wants a Coolermaster hyper 212 EVO and it comes with pre-applied paste and also a paste from coolermaster, so im giving my point of view about TIM alternative, so i don't get the point...

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX650, the manufacturer is FSP (Fortron Source Power) decent psu maker.... or you are telling that there are several fautly units serving people arround the world?

The 4 phase VRMs have had trouble with the quad cores, overall the reviews have lower OCs which is down to stability problems. Not really surprising considering they are rated 25A per phase.

MX-4 is the best paste if he wants aftermarket stuff, otherwise the included (not pre-applied) paste with the 212 EVO is very good quality paste (pretty much equal to MX4 in my experience)

FSP is decent, and it is not the quality of the unit that is the flaw, rather the architecture. It is a group regulated design, which means the voltage rails are all adjusted together, resulting in absolutely atrocious regulation. Check the TPU review. IIRC the capstone is based on the seasonic g series, which is a very well proven design.

I just switched the PSU and RAM, any other suggestions? Thank you for the help.

Also since the PSU isnt modular, will I have a wire management problem in the case I choose?

agreed ... there are several better PSU, like Seasonic ones, 550W will be fine also 600W too, 80+ bonze certification will be desired as minimum,

You should not have trouble with cable management in that case. The CXM series is only semi-modular anyway, so you won't actually be able to drop that many cables.

The 8 phase (most are actually 4 phase with doublers) boards don't seem to suffer the same current limited problem, showing that the 4 phase system is just not capable current wise. Any of the GB boards with 8 phases are at least decent, but I am personally not a fan of the BIOS.

Both are good cards with top notch cooling (overkill to be honest) Any of the large aftermarket coolers can easily deal with the 970, so there is really not much difference (even noise-wise) between the ACX2.0, MSi TF5, Asus Strix/DCUII, and GB Windforce. Don't have any experience with any of the companies warranty wise in the US, but I have only had good experiences with eVGA warranties (they also seem to have the more flexible ones), while MSi is rather mixed in my view.

Either way, once you narrow it down to the types I mentioned above, the card will really just come down to Price, Looks, and Warranty.

Why not rosewill? Just correcting on my previous post. It is a Super Flower unit, presumably the same one that appears in the eVGA G2 line. Very well proven in many aspects. PSUs are not about the retailer, the OEM and the actual design of the unit is far more important.

And that PSU is basically the same as the CX600 (CWT). Overall a lower quality platform than the Rosewill uses. I wonder what OEM those dud ones are.

That motherboard? It's pretty awful if he is going to try to OC that CPU, not to mention that he has a Devil's canyon CPU so he will be screwed if the board doesn't come with an updated BIOS.

Phantom 410 is a well regarded case by many reviewers, and on that front NZXT has a much better reputation than Thermaltake. And you just recommended a massive case with a tiny motherboard. I am really questioning your thought process as none of your arguments/recommendations seem to have any basis.

You would have to remove the top hard drive bay. So it depends on if you think you want to put more drives in it. (of course you can use the 5.25 inch bays for hard drives too if you get adapters)
