Laptop for editing and to withstand humidity

In August I'm moving to Guyana, South America for a year. While I'm over there I am wanting to do some filming and obviously want to edit as I go so I don't return with days of footage to trim down. I'm staying in the rainforest so it will be very humid and I'll need something to withstand this, also I probably won't have an internet connection so I don't really care for any functions other than downloading an editing programme.
I wondered if anyone would have any recommendations as to where to look/any specific brands? As cheap as possible please as I don't want to have to be worrying about anything too valuable!

You need to search for "ruggedized notebooks". These are designed specifically for your needs. The Panasonic Toughbooks are probably the best known in this category. Its been years since I've had any experience in this area so I am afraid I cannot suggest any specific model, but again, the Panasonics have a good reputation for this category of portable/mobile computers, and that is where I would start looking first.
