On my file server RST is giving me a notification about a bad drive in my RAID 1 volume or something along those lines, however, It doesnt show any specific drives are bad when I check. Is there a program out there that does a very thorough diagnostic tests to detect bad drives? I am trying to get this system ready to be parted out and sold.

It might be detecting a SMART issue or the drive might have just lost sync and triggered a rebuilt. I've seen that before, especially if you are using standard desktop drives in RAID.

They are the WD RED 2TB drives in RAID1. Everything looks fine. No bad block detections, etc. Id still like to run a good diagnostic program across it just for peace of mind so im not about to sell a bad drive to someone.

Using WD free diagnostic currently.

Hey, @MxPhenom 216

WD's Data LifeGuard should be able to detect both of your WD Red drives, just make sure you run both the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the utility. You could try using third-party diagnostic tools as well, just to be sure and to benchmark the results for your peace of mind. Since you'd be selling those HDDs, I'd strongly recommend backing up the files and then formatting them using the WRITE ZEROS feature from the DLG tool. Here's an article that explains more about what it does and how to use it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=7dQidH

Let me know if you've got more questions! :)
