Hello. I dont know if it is normal . But after playing Crysis 3 i saw max temps 95C from REALTEMP log.
Is this too high for that cpu and rma?
I think i mounted good cooler.
Temps in other games are 80-90C. Only Crysis 3 making 95C max.

I think those stock coolers should come with a health warning.

They are barely adequate to cool the CPU sufficiently with light to moderate loads, let alone gaming or some other intensive load where it could easily overheat. Oh and forget about overclocking with it.

Almost any third party cooler will be better than it. As a starting point, one of the best brands out there is Noctua and they have a wide range of coolers.

With stock cooler i used to have temps up to 85-90C, now using Corsair H60 and temps dropped down to 65-70C while gaming. i7 4790K processors tends to run a bit hot. Make sure your PC case is cooled very well if you're going to stick with stock Intel cooler.

OP should check his voltages because my i7 ran 70-80c on full loads with the stock cooler.

Yes, they were. With Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and decent case cooling. Also, please note I'm running it at 4.4GHz and only 1.18V.

The stock cooler is crap in general, and it doesn't matter what CPU you're running. Using that "thing" will give anyone high temps.

yep, theres nutting you can do with stock cooler except replace the thermal paste, now just improve your airflow so your components have better fresh air

since Ivy Bridge intel Stopped to use soldering between CPU Die and I.H.S, so new processors tends to get a little bit hotter, is a problems that stills on Devil's Cannyon, Broadwell, haswell and as far as I know skylake has the same problem…

So stock cooler may handle just a normal use, for gaming use, better get a aftermarket cooler,

I've ran my i7 with stock cooler and temps were like 90's then put water cooler, temps were max at 70, then delidded that dude … temps never goes up 60 and stays on 26-30 at idle,

Normal get aftermarket cooler ASAP...

You are shortening the life of your processor to work on making those temperatures.

And you also have faults and malfunctions in future for sure.

Provide immediately !

Lets see... Makes multiple threads on ticking noise, makes multiple threads on overheating CPU.... It's not rocket science. REPLACE YOUR COOLER. STOP WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME.

Sorry for the CAPS people, sometimes you have to yell to make something sink in..

I will have to say that my brothers 4690 had excellent thermals, even with the stock HSF. I was very impressed. Playing a quick round of bf4 with a 290 in it and the temps did not even hit 70C. My ambient temp was is around 27C.

BIG NOTE: These were stock clocks.
