So I recently upgraded my computer and bought the xfx Radeon r9 280x and when I put everything in my computer it uses Intel graphics... It came with an installation disk but when I try to install the files nothing happens. The fans on the 280x spin but it's not enabled or something. Have I missed a step? I have an i3-3220 and a 650 watt power supply. If you need any more information just ask.

Should've asked this first: are you sure your monitor is connected to your graphics card?

2 monitors connected to igpu and to dedicated vga (white connectors)
horizontal one is connected to mb
vertical one is connected to vga card
your should move from mb to vga card

edit:
and dont forget to switch primary vga option in bios from igpu to pcie before you switch cable.

Parts I used to anyone wondering,

-Graphics card: XFX Radeon r9 280x ($150 I got it 50% off)
-Motherboard: Gigabyte B75M-D3H
-Case: NZXT Source 210
-Powersupply: Antec 650 watt bronze certified

I got all these for about $300. I got a good price in the graphics card and power supply.

-CPU: i3-3220t
-CPU cooler: stock cooler from old computer
-Hard Drive: western digital blue

(All this was in my old computer, look at the pictures here. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/i-need-help-upgrading-my-pc.214084/page-2#post-3334894 .)
