According to techpowerup GTX960 review, AC Unity is pretty much unplayable on 1920x1080 with 4X AA (i assume it's MSAA):

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GTX_960_OC/7.html

Is that because of AA, or because of ultra settings? This is pretty important, because 15.6 FPS is pretty ridiculous - that is even lower than Crysis 3 or Witcher 3 on ultra. It's the only game in the benchmark that lags so much. If it could not be played on GTX960 at those tested settings, at 1920x1080 resolution, dear wizzard, perhaps you should have done an additional benchmark to find playable settings for GTX960 at 1920x1080 rez? Please respond someone.

After a whole bunch of updates, I can play Unity (decently) with an i5-3570K (4.5GHz) and a GTX 660 at 1600x900 with most settings set to medium (and SMAA/FXAA). I'm guessing with your 960, you want to keep the same resolution as mine and set most settings high. It's up to you to push resolution or image quality settings but I don't recommend you go further than 900p. AC:Unity can really stress your GPU if you increase the resolution and your GTX 960 isn't really that much more powerful than a GTX 660.

The benchmarks aren't about finding playable settings, they are about comparing the performance of the different cards.

AC:U performs like crap at max settings. But it is playable on a 960 at 1080p if you lower some settings and the game still looks really good.

^ agreed... i would'nt worry about what is said, instead try what can be done. for instance.... i can run GTA5 on a 1080p 55" display, on a 6950 1Gb , @ perfectly good FPS.. its ALL in the setting adjustments. play around with them and see what Your system can do...this is one of the benefits of being a member of the PC masterrace. :)

Well i don't have AC unity. I just want to know the difference between AA on and off at 1920x1080 with a card like GTX960.. I was wondering how the game is running on the same settings without AA as was done in techpowerup review.

It's probably playable at mostly High settings, Shadows on medium, and no AA. Just my guess, but that's the thing about PC gaming, as long as you can accept some lower settings, lower-end cards can still be viable for awhile, and this will vary game by game.

FXAA is so cheap you can use it on games even with such graphic cards. People say it makes everything blurry, but it just doesn't. It makes HUD elements blurry if you use it in graphics control panel. If it's within a game, HUD is excluded from filtering from start.
