I actually don't mind U-play. I've never had a single problem with them. Much better than Origin, at least!

The key to U-play is if it's one of their games, then buy it there, install there, and play from there. Going thru Steam is asking for trouble.

Saw a post on this yesterday with just screenshot. I'm wondering, actually hoping, these scenes are not the main game, but rather an ancient tie-in to the ice age like Shangri-La in Far Cry 4. The main game taking place in present day surrounding defending one of the obscure ancient tribes in existence.

The name Primal would still make sense if about an ancient tribe and their ice age ancestors.
And here's another thing to think about...

Meh, very skeptical about that idea being sound or not.

^I look at this and I can't help but think 100 different variations of clubs, spears and bows, all of which have basically the same effect.

I just can't imagine them being able to offer much variety in gameplay or object content with this setting. Still think it would be better used as a tie-in to an ancestral past of a currently existing primitive tribe, like Shangri-La was to the people of Kyrat.

It is definitely an awesome idea. But it will more than likely be ruined by trying to cram too much non sense into the game.

They might at some point include present day players / weaponry dlc in the primal settings.

It already has nonsense. These appear to be cro-magnon man, and bow and arrow, although very primitive, did not appear until the end of their time period. Those bows look like a much later evolution of the weapon under early modern humans.

I'm thinking just as far as they've gone with Assassin's Creed.

I hope this turns out to be good. I still haven't gotten more than just a few hours into FC4 whereas FC3 hooked me in and made me want to play more. At least this looks like a slight departure of the copy/paste they did with FC3->4, so maybe it'll be decent.

That part is not as far fetched as you might think,. They said 10,000 BC which is Mesolithic era. Bows came in about 9,000 BC, so not really far off.
