I'm fine on IE8. I've seen all that gibberish on a white page before. I've never quite figured out what it is about but I think it has to do with the page being compressed.

IE 32 bit says "connection error" and runs a diagnostic (cant connect in the end)
IE 64 bit has gibberish
FF has missing icons

Maybe power cycle modem/router? When in doubt, that's what I usually do.

i didnt see the problem but just gave restarting the img server a try and either it was coincidence or it worked.

FF works fine, but IE8 still cant connect... weird that.

not yet. its about as useful as fishing with an umbrella anyway, last time they tried it a 15 year old kid broke it by googling "proxy" - he almost went to jail for revealing a "state secret" upon telling his classmates about it.
