In Canada the SX8200 Pro or Grammix S11 Pro 1TB is $10 cheaper.

I wish we didn't get fleeced so much on these drives.

And it's $270 at Amazon (for the 2TB). I think you had it at $285. Nice price scaling regardless.

I've bought a handful of these 1TB A80s over the last few months. Not all of them had the same memory chips or controllers, or even the same PCB color. Some were from newegg. Some amazon. They pretty much perform the same, so as long as I keep finding them at $120-140, I'll keep buying for builds. I'll pull a few of them out tomorrow and post some pictures of the "alternate configurations" you might get.

It's really weird, but that SSD has another version based on phison e12 controller, toshiba flash and blue textolite. That "green" edition is new for me.

The kicker is I have one of these drives and it flaked out on me after 6 months. I bought an S11 at the same time and that one is still chugging along nicely.

Sounds nice - Yeah agree hope P5 is going to lower the price but well see

980 Pro is probably not far away, probably going to be very expensive tho, 980 Evo maybe next year?

This drive for $132, or mx500 1tb m.2 $114???? The mx500 is not NVMe and has lower TBW (360Gb vs 500Gb) but it has better temperatures, although i will only do gaming and i will have good airflow in my future case (fractal meshify c) so which one is better? BTW, i will pair it with Seagate 2TB HDD

P34A80 is much better. MX500 only has better temperatures because it's not as fast.

If you look at my temperature testing, "Temperature at fixed write speed" chart, look at 500 MB/s on the horizontal axis, that's how cool the P34A80 would be if it were limited to 500 MB/s write speed, like the MX500

Ohh that's why the mx500 has better thermals.. so the silicon is worth it! Now that i think about it... for $18 i get better performance, NVMe speeds and higher TBW.
