I grabbed my 360 pc controller out to hook to my laptop. When i plugged it in windows said that the usb device cannot be recognized, i tried different ports, my desktop which had windows 7, as well as my laptop. I then tried my dad's laptop which has windows xp. The green xbox circle flashes on that. and no really response otherwise. I went to install the driver software on there with no response

Im having trouble finding a gaming peripheral/hardware support section on microsoft's website. It seems to just not be there. When you look for software downloads, its right beside mice and keyboards. In the support however, nothing. Controller wont come up as a search query on their website.

So if you have any ideas, please throw em at me.

Alright i reinstalled the software on my laptop with 7. plugged in the controller, flashes green on here. so OS is not relevant it seems.

Guys thanks for the ideas. But wow f*ck.

the damn wire wasnt quite connected 6 inches before the usb plug. it can seperate there if you look at it.

ugh exams are making me not think.

    SOLVED

any1 know why it does that? seems pointless.

Safety measure if the wire gets pulled that it unplugs and saves the PC\console
