Hello everyone!
I want to flash a 390x bios on my Sapphire r9 290x. However, I have a couple questions:

1.) Is it true that if my Sapphire 290x has a custom pcb, I will need a Sapphire r9 390x bios? I have the Sapphire
Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Tri-X OC, New Edition. A comparison between the new and old versions of the card can be found here: http://i.imgur.com/oRBgiLh.png
I have a link to a modded XFX 390x bios, but if what some people are saying is true, it won't work (because of the custom PCB). Here is the link to the bios: https://mega.co.nz/#!dU4AxRLI!zpCi2P-ybfy2ZxkQJ5TM0noSSSv7QoQD1KPvAVt1UVU

2.) If I need a Sapphire 390x bios, can someone link me to a Sapphire 390x bios (preferably a modded version so it works with 4gb of vram and has the memory clock modded as well)?

3.) Since I have a Sapphire r9 290x, it has a physical button for the bios switch, one mode being legacy, and the other being UEFI mode. When I shut down my PC to flash the bios, what mode should the card be in? UEFI or Legacy mode?

Thank you guys so much!:)

We've been there and done that. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. Even the modded 4gb bios sucks on the 290x... There's to many tweeks done to the 390x for the bios to work as it should on a 290x

Go look in the AMD section and look as there's a thread similar to yours. Trust me, don't waste your time.

Alright. One last question. Is there a way to get the fans to stop spinning when the card is on idle?
