Dime will be greatly missed! :rockout:
One of my favourite albums has to be Vulgar Display of Power along with Cowboys from Hell
What is your favourite Pantera album(s)?

Mediocre guitarist, overrated just because he died.

    Just sayin'.

Dime was hugely popular before he died, just because you didn't know about what he did until after his death doesn't make him over rated.
Beside, it's not a testimony to his talent (wich is huge by the way) it's the fact that heavy music was in it's final breath thanks to the rape of 80's glam and hair metal and the introduction of Nirvana and other grunge bands in that period.
If it wasn't for Pantera heavy metal music would be completely different, or even non-existent these days. The band literally brought back a dying genre and took a lot of abuse from press and religious types for it. So really it's not a testament of his talent, it's really what he stood for... when other people would have sold out and take the road with money he stayed true to himself and his fans and kept playing music he loved and brought it back into the limelight.

It's insulting to post a comment about a person being overated bucause thier dead. Everyone is intitled to thier opinion and we unfortunately have to respect yours. But those that did like him we will always keep him in our memories.

For those that do not know Dimebag Darrell he was mainly known for his lead guitar work with heavy metal band Pantera. Please use the link below for licks, details of his death, and to gain an understanding to what type of person he was:

I saw Pantera on the Reinventing the Steel tour in 01. Dime tore it up and I was just 10 feet from his shreding! :rockout::rockout:

New stuff? Pantera joined in the mid 80's and disbanded in 2001... I wouldn't exactly consider that new.
