Hello guys, wonder if anyone can shed some light on my situation.

Currently have windows 7 installed and everything was working fine until I installed the new drivers for ATi.

Now no matter what i do i do not get any load on my second core under gpuz, my scores under 3dmark06 and vantage have decreased significantly.

It shows 2 card under ATI overdrive. But it will not use the second part of the card. Information centre shows Primary card and LInked adapter.

Any clues? please help. i have spent 5 hours and now i'm very bored.

oh and going back to 10.5 hasnt helped.

If you are running dual gpus did you go to your Catalyst control center and enable crossfireX. Check your crossfire connector. Did you use CCleaner to delete the old drivers then reinstall Drivers.

yes drivers were reinstalled correctly, unintalled in add remove programs, followed by restart, used driverclean, restart, used cccclean and restart, followed by fresh install. A 4870x2 is a single card, and CCC does not recognise it as 2 seperate cards, as it is not, thus the Crossfire box isnt even available to check.


Any further ideas? anyone? ....

Download GPU-Z. It will tell you if Crossfire is enabled and with how many GPUs.

What are you currently using to monitor your GPU usage?

Hello :) You could try and unplug one of them and resetart, and then put it back in. I fixed a problem very similar to yours by doing that. Im not sure how it happend but it working. Also in the device manager make sure it says both at active and working probably.
Note in 2D mode like a browser and your desktop, only 1 card is suppose to be active. And the same if your running in windowed mode in games.

with X2 cards guys xfire is auto enabled sounds like one core crapped out man, try runnig furmark multi gpu if both cores dont run furmark multigpu will not either

Yes. But I remember updateing drivers with xfire tends to be alittle annoying. Atleast they did back when i had my 3870 in crossfire. I would suggest to still make sure the device manager says everything is working probably. And if you want to try it, plug one out for alittle.
