Its been awhile since i posted in here, i Hope you guys still kicking alright.

Okay, so next year i am about to buy a 4K Monitor for watching blu-ray video

Now my question is :

1. Since i am not planning to add a Dedicated Graphic Card anytime soon, can my specs able to handle 4K Video Black smoothly without any shutter? or should upgrade some of my component like RAM or HDD?

2. In the MSI Website
http://us.msi.com/product/mb/A88XME45.html#hero-specification
In the Detail section, it state that "1 x HDMI Port Supporting Maximum Resolution of 3840 x 2160 @30HZ",
the question is what is this 30HZ mean? 30HZ = 30FPS?

3. Which brand are propose, since i am not following any updae about monitor.

Thanks Before

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2015 to all TPU member, God Bless You.

30Hz does pretty much mean you'll be stuck at 30 FPS... which is fine for just watching Blu-Ray. RAM and HDD won't make any real difference. :)

I wouldn't go for less than 60 hz but that's me..
Just for bluray I guess that's fine?
I can't see how 30hz would be fine, when scenes start going super action fast.

Also just make absolutely sure the monitor is true 4k UHD, with UHD colors.
Not 4:2:2: chromatic subsampling or something dumb like that.

I like samsung generally but I am using a 4k TV @ 50" for my monitor.

Most Blu Ray runs at 24 fps.

Well since my spec is good to go, but something still bugging me.

Lets just say i buy a 4K monitor with 60hz refresh rate, but my motherboard only support up to 30hz, what will happen?will it be compatible?

It will run at 30Hz. Also, until there are bluray players than can play 4K content and there are actual bluray videos in 4K, doing this won't mean a whole lot because just about everything in Blu-Ray is still 1080p. Until that changes, you won't be able to fully utilize 4K. While I think that there are some nice 4K TVs out there and the displays themselves have evolved, the hardware to drive them hasn't as much. As a result, waiting might be the best option then asking this same question closer to when you'll actually buy it.

If your output options are only HDMI then you will be stuck to 30hz unless you have HDMI 2.0 output (Which I don't think any motherboard currently has and neither on the Monitors but I could be mistaken) on both the motherboard and monitor. Right now you need at least DP 1.2 or Mini-DP 1.2 on both devices to support 4K at 60hz as those are the only guaranteed available devices out there. Most GPU's of the recent generation that have a DP output are DP 1.2 and the monitors are as well so you would not have any problem from that point. Just on basic Blu-Ray playback even a pretty low end GPU with DP will be more than enough to run a 4K movie so you could spend only $100 bucks on a GPU and be set.
