5850 Unlocked Bios !!!!!!!!

What do you use to flash your bioses? :confused:

Always used rbe-winflash-thingy, but it's not supported yet I guess.

Working great here on a Gigabyte 5850, those who havent done it yet, you really want to try MSI Afterburner overclocking utility. You can adjust Vcore, Clocks and even make your own fan speed curve so that you dont have to have the fan locked at 50%, but you can have it ramp up as you want. I set mine so that it is 50% at 80°C but it does not even reach 80°C when gaming, it only happens with Furmark.

The MSI afterburner utility will allow you to set core/ram clocks only to the same limits as shown in the catalyst driver, it's not very useful without an unlocked bios.

That said, I just registered here to say the unlocked bios is working great on my HIS 5850. It's stable at 890/1350 with default vcore, awesome work.

from me uploaded it from my card, after I downloaded it from Underwires website. It works.

Take look at this with. This is my 5850 against my old 285 gtx benching clock and this 5850 is 24/7 stable. Look at the gpu numbers, not the cpu numbers.

of how to unlock this card?

So far i got 900 core and 1170 mem on mine with this bios, im sure the core can go higher just havent tried yet.

Well I started testing with Ati Tool and got it stable with lower voltage :toast:

Voltage: 1149
CC: 924
MC: 1220

Temps won't hit 70c with 96% GPU Utilization

watch your ram because of the memory controller it won't show error but performance will drop example at 1250 my performance is less than at 1150 so you know my ram is over clocked to high.

I'm wondering if that has to do with the lower score I got with Windows Experience. Every tool I used shows better performance but Win Experience.. will play with that and see what happens.

the extra stream processors on the 5870 will always push it ahead if you go clock for clock. being able to clock higher though is nice.

5850 Cards can't go to higher clocks except Asus and MSI cards. So you have to flash other brands to Asus or MSI bios to be able to raise the clocks.
