~$600 build for Sims, WoW, and Minecraft

I am building a rig in a few weeks for my sister and her boyfriend. Budget is $600, and they want to play Sims 3, WoW, and Minecraft seamlessly.

Here is the rig I am thinking of. Any changes I should make? There should be a dvd drive in it but pcpartpicker didn't have it.

My question is can you swing a GTX 960 instead of the 950? Its not THAT much more expensive than the one you already have picked out.

the 950 should be more then adequate for all that and more at <1080p all of what you listed I can easily run on the the HTPC
that being said I would swing for the 960 if you could find one on sale either that or go AMD
cheaper and nearly as fast as the 960 about 5 to 8 fps slower

I don't see a mouse, keyboard, monitor, or speakers listed. Do they already have these? I also don't see an OS listed. New computers typically require new licenses since OEM licenses are can not legally be transferred to new computers. Only full retail licenses are transferable (if uninstalled from all other computers), but by far most are OEM.

How much does the DVD add to the cost?

All of that is handled, along with OS. Just need the box. Dvd drive is $20, was going to add that near the end to see if they really needed an internal one or could just take my external one.

I think this will be the final config. Changed case, added DVD drive. Case will be the red and black one instead of white, PCpartpicker just didnt have it.

It definitely is needed to install Windows. But beyond that, typically installs can be just be downloaded. So using yours temporarily will save some money upfront. And if they decide they want one later, they are easy to add.

I usuially just put the contents of whats on the Windows disc to a USB since it installs 2x faster that way. I have USB drives with Windows 10, 8/8.1 and 7 on them for any build I do, or any system I wipe. All I then need is the key.

I haven't had a DVD drive in my system for like 3-4 years.

Yeah, you can use a USB with modern boards. Works great.

I still put opticals in my builds - typically a Blu-ray drive just in case I or someone wants to listen to a CD or watch a movie.
