Why don't you wait for the 8800 series, so the price drops?

7900GS is quite a bit faster, about on par with a 7900GT. Its a 50\50 though as to if you think it will be worth the change. Personally id probs go for it as u could fleabay your 7600GT for almost the price of the 7900GS

I like my 7900GS very much, and will be adding another one for SLI sometime soon. I'd go for it :D

congratulations with your new card.
I think you are going to be happy with it.

I am more an ATI guy myself but the card looks good with a greater cooler on it.

Let us all know how you get on. I’m currently giving this one some thought. I think it’s pretty much the same as yours but factory overclocked and very slightly cheaper after adding P&P. I’d prefer a 7900GTO but they’ve jacked the prices up quite considerably now (£150 to £180). Still a damn good deal, but now over my price range.

The OCuk versions probably dont meet "golden sample" specification, though you can be guaranteed they will still clock damn well ;)

Thanks. Do you reckon you'll try some unlocking as well?

I'm hoping the cooler on it is quiet and reasonably effective too. Once, just once I'd like to be able to keep the stock HSF attached.

It seems Tekheads aren't advertising the card as factory overclocked any more, just saying it has potential. Not a good sign :(

Don't know what your situation was in the UK or if you were even interested in ATI but in the US you can get an X1900GT for less than a 7900GS. And both the X1900GT and the 7900GT significantly outperform a 7900GS.
