7970 and 7970 ghz?

    What's the difference between the two other than the stock over clock. I want to buy one or the other, but i haven't decided.

    No difference other than the bios flashed on the card. Check out the reviews of each. The reviews section can be found on the main page at TPU.

    Since you mention it, my card with the GHz edition bios worked fine... Until I wanted to overclock it further. It didn't like it. Not sure if it was the power tune features or the drivers at the time but I much prefer the original bios.

    I recall hearing your experience as well as others with the GHz bios, so I never bothered flashing it. My reference cards overclock just fine without it. :) IMO the reference cards work fine, especially with water cooling.
