when i upgrade from my 9800GX2 It will be a 5xxx series AMD ownership. 4xxx vs GTX2xx series was a competition, at the 5xxx series, they might as well be competing against intel IGP.

where are you pulling these crazy notions from man, neither of these GPU's even physically exist yet, however you have drawn an absolute conclusion that not only with RV870 Beat GT300 but there wont even be a competition between them? are you high?

yeah, speaking of that 28", was it worth it? I do all kinds of games. I see huge advantages in CSS, mmorpgs, civilization type games, pretty much everything. Im thinking about getting even bigger. Maybe a slightly higher resolution.

it was worth every dollar and i love it like a child, its the most versatile monitor ive ever had, as it handles all my consoles + pc + set top box etc.

the best part of it being worth it is, i bought it just before the recession, Aussie pricing is a bit off but suffice to say the same place i bought it now sells it for 50% more than when i got mine.

Thanks Wolf! I'll probably be getting the GTX 295 by the end of this month? Anything important I need to know about the card? BTW, hopefully I'll be visiting Aussie again this August!:rockout:

Awesome, if your swinging by Perth hit me up for sure, we can lan

some things to know about the 295 are these, ill add more if i think of em'

-She gets warm, so be prepared to sacrifice noise to keep temps good, but believe me with a boosted fan they are perfect.

-She overclocks well, you will easily get 10% more from this card, i have gotten 20% actual performance.

-She does like steady power, only a high quality 750w+ PSU for this lovely lady.

    enjoy wearing the crown.

Go with the GTX295. Even though we are in a Depression think of how much money you will save just sitting at home playing games. So really the GTX295 is more of an investment then anything else. :)

Would you spend the extra money for the lifetime warranty over the 3-5year warranty?

I would not go from a 9800GX2 to a single GTX 285, that's $200+ for <10% performance improvement. I'd stick w/ the GX2 unless it's running too hot for comfort, if so I'd a single GTX 260 Core 216 or 280, cheapest 1 out there.

The minimum fps of apps and performance in apps without SLI profiles will see significant jumps.
