I doubt it. I'm sure the Unreal 4 game will be running on the Unreal 3 engine.

I never cared for Unreal Tournament. Now Unreal Engine 4... that would be sweet especially with Linux support.

Hopefully they get it right this time and focus on what Made UT and UT2k4 good and not hoverboards mechs and goofy crap that was in the third one
A new Unreal game would also be nice ;)
From what i've seen of the new unreal engine in EVE Valkyrie, it looks damn good and seems to perform good as well which could not be said about the third one.

    Recipe for good UT:
beautiful unique levels and some of the classics like Deck13 and Facing Worlds.
    open mod potential!
    good but not overpowered vehicles
fast paced action and more small to medium sized maps than large maps
classic UT guns with no improvements just the classic guns as they were
if adding new guns, make them well balanced
    double jump
    cool powerups
    good voiceovers/taunts
good hitbox detection and clean movement, not like BF4.

    edit:
    simple ut99 style server browser
    stat tracking

I thought there was an announcement about no unreal tournament game being in development not to long ago. Anyway I am super excited, UT is what brought me into PC gaming and I am tiring of the rehashed Military Shooter. Linux support all the better!

I have wanted a new Unreal Tournament game for years. UT3 was a disappointment, but that was actually handled by another studio for most of its development. Give me a PC-exclusive (Windows and Linux) UE4-based Unreal Tournament and I will throw money at you Epic Games...

I've got to say, UT2014 or 2015 would be amazing. I'd actually spend money and buy it when it came out.

That said, hopefully this isn't UT3. That game blew. It was a completely different type of shooter, that simply had UT2004 models slapped in and visually updated.

If this is faithful, I'm looking forward to:
    Decent custom skins.
    Custom worlds.
    Custom game types.
    New and older game modifiers.
Balanced and quick paced shooting (screw hiding behind walls).
Instagib. If you have to ask why you've never played the game.

All of this said, I'm sure they will pump out a CoD in space clone. It's too bad that Epic just doesn't seem to be able to make PC games any more. Unreal Engine is great, but it seems hollow without an Unreal Tournament with which to demonstrate it.
