hi ppl I have some question to ask.

I try to convert a file from RMVB to AVI using WinAvi and the output

after I convert the video to AVI I find the file is too big. End up I only can burn 2 AVI file in 1 DVD 4GB++

I want 3 or 4 video file in a dvd disk [save cost] but what kind of output is good and small size?

And i dont know how to compress a file too. :~~ can someone guide me please

thank you

It sounds like your video bitrates are set too high. Try setting them for around 1500Mbits, and enable 2-pass encoding (if these settings are in the options)

I dont have this setting only 160000

Winavi is pants, use ConvertXtoDVD. You can then add all your files to the program at once and it will make them all fit on a DVD5 or DVD9, your choice ;)

He doesn't want DVD, he wants high compression.

I recommend using, XviD, 3ivX or DivX;-). Those codes are suitable to create 700-1400mb movies in good quality. You could use auto guardianknot to convert DVD to those formats and preset the desired size. Expect conversion to take a while though.

ok maybe i really dont get u guys let me just explain again. LOL im sorry.

I need to burn a couple of video in to a dvd disk the size is 4.7GB

I use winavi wiht the output shown on the image above but was mange to use nero 7 to burn up to only 2 video in. Each video b4 convert is around 190MB to 200MB.

So after convert to AVi is 300++/video. so was like I want to have 4 of the video or even 5 in 1 DVD but the avi size is too big. Is it the problem is base on my output? anyone can advise me which output to use?

Or can anyone tell me can I burn the RMVB video using nero burner?

xvid im not sure how to use >.<

I read somewhere saying Xvid can convert avi in smaller size! >.<

im sorry this is my first time using DVD ;/

and im a she not he xD

take care all xD

So wait, are you trying to make a DVD that plays in a stand alone player, or are you just trying to store video files as data on a dvd?

Try ConvertXtoDVD as mentioned above. It works very well for me.

I code mine as mpeg4 with nero, and then just make a quick menu with nero and burn 2 videos to 1 disc myself, but I convert into 2.2gigs a piece, if you drop that number to 1gig you would be set. Its all settable in size, and you can strip parts out, cut audio tracks. On top of that its pretty simply to use and actually has a decent amount of power and control for people who are more into it.

If you want a DVD to use in a stand alone player ConvertXtoDVD works fine indeed, very easy to use, fast and good results. I'd recommend to get it.

Always nice to have a she on the forums btw :)
