I'm going crazy over this. I'll be playing WoW (it's only this game this happens in) in windowed mode and watching something on VLC media player as well as browsing the internet occasionally. Then out of nowhere, without warning my system will instantly freeze with the audio repeating and I have to restart. I'm not overclocking at all but when I went into the BIOS my DRAM freq was DDR3-1333mhz... Is this your actual ram speed? Cause mine is supposed to be 2133mhz.

I'm still learning all this, and I have a learning difficulty which doesn't help.

The intel speedboost tech is enabled... Maybe this is causing the locks, because when I try to overclock my CPU manually with some predifined settings or my own settings the exact same thing happens, maybe when it steps up the clock, it causes the lock up.

Has anyone got any idea why this is happening? System specs on the left.

Although it may not be the case but it can be incompatibility. I had similar problems on my previous rig. I had 4x 1GB OCZ Platinum EB DDR3 1600 7/6/6/24 and running at their rated specs my computer would freeze randomly, I had to loosen the timings to 7/7/6/24 to make it more stable, and even then, it would freeze from time to time. Overclocking them was absolutely a no go. Also, freezes were more frequent with 4 sticks than with just 2.

I changed to some cheap 1333MHz RAM and it became rock solid stable ever since.

You can also try to run Memtest to check for RAM faults.

try disabling flash while browsing the internet. adobe flash is very badly coded and sometimes my systems lags too while opening heavy flash using pages.

sounds like ram or hdd issue.
