    Hi all,

    I have a Q6600 on an Asus P5Q motherboard with OCZ PC6400 4GB.

I was initially considering upgrading to i7 and a motherboard and memory to go with it but I couldn't justify spending that much money on an upgrade that I probably wouldn't notice any significant improvement on performance! All I do is a bit of light gaming and net browsing etc! (But I do love having a good, solid, fast system )

Anyway, I find memory confusing! I would be afraid that I would go for the wrong type of memory etc!

So any advice would be great!! ;)

I ran 4gb 1066 OCZ Reapers on a P5Q-E no problem. Even oc'ing was possible. Rock solid. P5Q series are superb boards anyway.

Are these the ones your talking about? Any problems with the "handles" on the top of them?

Yes, altho the "handles" (heatpipes man:laugh:) don't form an ellipsoid, but rather like a hook. But they're pretty much the same. And no, no problems at all. Well it depends on your CPU cooler, but my Xiggy S1283 had plenty of space.
