    Hi all,

My father-in-law currently has a Gigabyte EP45-DS3r. Which as you all probably know supports DDR2 and DDR3. He has read that as it supports both DDR's it is'nt particularly good at either DDR. Your advice is required for a Replacement M/B. :respect: PLEASE NOTE HE'S NOT INTERESTED IN i3/i5/i7. He is running very similar specs to mine except he has a GTS 250 512 mb. He's running 7 64bit with 2GB of OCZ DDR3 1333 and wants to increase memory he is able to use. He is not worried about SLI/Crossfire as in his words "I'll only ever run one card".

    Please advise

just grab any old P45 board with DDR3 ram support then.

by "increase memory", you mean more physical ram slots?

    Sorry Mussels ,

I very quickly typed that earlier during mu lunch hour at work :slap:. I should have put on there that he is using a Q9550 E0. He wants to go for a 775 board that supports 8/16GB of DDR3, and is also a very good overclocker. He stressed to me that he would like a board with plenty of room around the CPU socket and unhindered PCI-E. He runs 3 SATA H/D's 160Gb for Operating System, 320GB Programs and 320 GB WIN 7 Backup. He isn't interested in Raid though. If it's needed for further info his case is a midtower (unknown), and I think a OCZ 700w Extreme Modular PSU, running Arctic Cooler 7 Pro.

Once again sorry for the lack of full info. Any help would be very gratefully recieved.

    Open to other suggestions.
