Wait, is the the same apple TV that has been promised since Windows Vista was the newest thing?

    Ahh it is!!!

And still slower and more expensive than competitive products, the new 3rd gen is only 1080P at 30FPS capable. So in all reality 1080i.

They make it sound like it has BIG boobs, but it's just an inflatable Apple love doll prostitute in a box, that steals your money and then claims patent infringement.

...Oh, and then gives you the wrong directions home.

this will actually be very nice. most likely this will be a premium HDTV competing with the likes of Sony and Samsung's top products. Then you throw in the "companion" which can handle 1080p content through HDMI and you are golden. now of course you could do this cheaper if you buy one of those mini-pcs and throw on xbmc or just get a roku but then you won't have integration with all of your other apple content on your iphone and ipad and imac. that's the point of this and that is why it will sell.

a lot of people rightly associate the apple logo with quality and reliability. that is why they have become so successful.

I associate Apple with a company that ham strings their older hardware with new software to force you to upgrade. OS 9.5 ring a bell?

you know i would agree with you guys if this were 2008. the fact is, you don't thrive like Apple has based on marketing and tricks forever. people will catch on pretty quickly if you are selling a polished turd. especially in the tech market. but nobody on tpu wants to hear that...so i digress...

You are talking about the same people who think a CPU is a computer. The same person who has three kids with one on the way, no home, job, and has an iPhone 4s. The same people who turn the music up on their phone and walk while listening to their music blaring in their ear.

You are a wealth of knowledge and a Unix-lineage champion ER, but you overestimate much of our population.

please. there are plenty of retards walking around using microsoft products. just because apple found a way to make the computer easy enough for our population doesn't mean the quality and reliability of said product is suspect.

Bullshit. Microsoft users are of the utmost intelligence. Just yesterday I heard someone borrowing a school laptop tell the librarian, "I want a PC, not an Apple." The man knew what he wanted, and he wanted a motherfucking personal computer, not a Granny Smith.

Anyone who doesn't like Apple doesn't like an American success story at its finest. I pity anyone who lives in America and can't support Apple's continued success. You people are the reason why companies like Toyota and Samsung find success in ripping off quality American engineering.

I think their biggest rip at the moment is the iPad mini, gen 2 iPad specs in a smaller case... there is more than one other tablet in this size that does a hec of a lot better for the same or less money.

Here in france a 32gb nexus 7 with HSPA+ is 349 Euro and a 16gb wifi only ipad mini is 339, and its worse in a few ways.. thinner and lighter i'll give it that but slower with a worse screen for a start.

their other products I don't have too much of a problem with, they are what they are and I can definitely see why people buy them, they look good and they're easy to use and keep up to date.

it may be a walled garden as they say, but it's a darn nice one once you're in there. (btw this is coming from an ex iPhone user, now android and always been windows aside from when schools and colleges made us use macs)

By supporting Apple you actually support one of the worst working conditions (Foxconn) and the Chinese which make the Apple products and by that you also support everything that is wrong in this world.

Please do not mix quality American engineering and companies who are only after huge profits (and margins) whatever the cost is.
You should support companies who work with smaller margins but don't move their manufacturing process abroad.
And Toyota shouldn't even be in that text.
