System in specs

Running at SATA 2 speeds, any ideas?

According to intel rapid storage it's running at SATA 3 6 Gb/s

This is the port it's plugged into. Is it perhaps the cable? I was under the impression the I didn't need a SATA 3 cable for SATA 3 speeds

You will have to check that in BIOS. Umm.. you have to press F11 or something just when the computer is starting. (You get the Motherboard Name and the name of company which makes them).

The cable is no concern. Check the manual of the motherboard and see if you have plugged it in the correct SATA port. (Your motherboard has two kinds of SATA ports, SATA 2 port and SATA 3 port. Make sure it's plugged into the SATA 3 port which is usually colored blue while SATA 2 ports are usually colored white.)

Step 1
Press "Windows-X" in Windows 8, and then select "Device Manager." In Windows 7 or Vista, click the "Start" button, type "device manager" into the search box, and then press "Enter."

Step 2
Click the arrow next to "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" to display the list of controller drivers currently used by your system.

Step 3
Check for an entry that contains the acronym "AHCI." If an entry exists, and there is no yellow exclamation mark or red "X" over it, then AHCI mode is properly enabled. If you don't see an "AHCI" entry, or the only entry contains a red or yellow mark, then there's a problem and AHCI mode is not properly enabled.

That is a sata 3 port but try the gray one next to it instead, also open CMD in administrator and type in: fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify ,if it says 0 than trim is on and if it says 1 than it is disabled,i see its not brand new so if trim is disabled it could be causing this.

Nooooo.. Use only the SATA 0 and 1 ports... that is the gray ports... Ports 2,3,4,5,6,7 will only serve to decrease performance...

There is nothing wrong with that drive. HD Tune Pro is just reporting lower numbers for some reason.

Yeah. HD Tune Pro is buggy. Those numbers are in line with what is expected. Just benchmark AS-SSD too to confirm.

Edit: Oh. You already benchmarked it. So, I guess the issue is resolved now?

Looks like it :)

Glad I didn't have to RMA.
Thanks for the help

Random write seems low on every benchmark I use (lol ignore the anime thingy, downloaded wrong version)

Has performance just degraded over time?

I'm using the latest firmware too

here's what reviewers get:

Yeah running Windows off the drive and it's half empty. Guess that explains it.

The other reason could be that the reviews you are reading are of the 256 GB version while you have the 128 GB version. SSDs get faster with higher capacities.
