You may NOT use a hammer while trying.

Would you get adequate cooling in something that size?

I was trying to be playfully funny....I didn't work out, I appologize for the misunderstanding. Tiny as many other things could be interpreted to some extend. I have this PC case: http://www.x2products.com/computer-cases/quantax-x2-j705b-200w-eu/ and I consider it to be tiny. And yeah I can fit 750 in there comfortably with decent cooling. Apparently you are referring to a set-top box, which you consider to be tiny in the context of APU usage and is also a bare-bones or a SOC system. And since you gave Zotac for example, here's something even tinier from them: Zotac ZBOX PI320 :

In that context of APU's I agree, you can't fit 750 in there. I didn't really take into account where APU's are most often used. If we look just a bit broader though, in my opinion you can fit that 750.

Don't worry, I did see that smile.
I am with you 100% if we start talking about mini ITX mobos and cases. There, probably anything else than an APU could also make sense, in some cases, more sense. But APUs can give you an all around system with good enough GPU power for light gaming in very compact dimensions that you can't have from Intel setups, except if you go for more expensive solutions that use Iris graphics or probably integrate a mobile gpu in them, usually an Nvidia one.

As for the Zotac ZBOX PI320, it uses an Atom chip. It offers everything except performance to do anything else than reading mails and watching a movie. I was talking about something with the size of that Zotac I posted or an NUC. Of course there are so many form factors today, that you can't be sure about that the other means. Smaller systems do exist and they make those Zotacs look like big boxes, but they are usually Atom based or ARM based systems.

Here the 7850k is about €10 more than the cheapest 750ti. If you're not into overclocking the A8 7600 (which has the same GPU as 7700k and isn't a whole lot slower than the 7850k) is about €70, the 7700k can usually be had for around €110, so I generally don't consider the 7850k to be worth it.

You'd have to buy used stuff if you want to beat it if you're after a very cheap slightly gaming capable machine.
Here the 7850k is $120 and you have an option for a free motherboard or $40 off of one of your choosing..the 750 ti is $120....8gb of 2400mhz memory is $60..a psu overkill for the system is $30 and a decent small case is $30..Windows 8.1 is $45...$285 for the whole system...
