battle lines are clearly drawn here. but one thing is sure, amd wasted time when it was ahead and is paying the price. an incoming product from amd cant beat an outgoing intel product, how sad is that?

yeah, i unfortunatly agree, i have stook with intel for the last few years because i believed that they have been ahead with performance and cost (my opinion), what AMD really need to do some time in the very near future is make there own "core 2" style processors and stop just making older CPUs have higher clock speeds and use less power.

I'm actually rather enthusiastic about the phenom. When the bugs are worked out, I do believe they will deliver a very good bang for the buck. I plan on using AMD for my next build...provided said bugs are worked out. The new procs just need to mature, the tech is still too new. Intels "quads" were ripe with confilcting stories of great successes and failures when they first appeared on the scene and now look at them...blazing fast and very reliable...AMD will come through with a little time and some more focused thinking. Although, I DO agree with the gentleman who stated that the spider platform is uneccessary at this time.:shadedshu They should concentrate on producing fast proc's, THEN move onto the platforms.......:wtf:
