What software did you use to stress test the CPU?

If you stress test thoroughly you'll know in a few hours if its stable, rather than being disappointed after 10 days.

Yep, and every chip will be different so you can't just apply someone else's overclock and voltages to your chip and assume it will be stable.

It is best to adjust the voltage to make your processor stable. So up the voltage a notch or two, test for stability(I prefer OCCT for stability testing). If it fails the stability test then raise the voltage a notch or two more and repeat. If it gets through 8 hours of OCCT then it is probably stable and you've found the voltage your processor need to run at the speed you have it.

im using intel burn in test , and heavy load... i tested it for 3-4h and it was ok. But it confuses me that I was on the internet when the PC is rebooted, and report oc failiure :/

Also keep an eye on your temps while it's under load. Keep the cores 60c or lower and the CPU/socket temps below 70c. 4.0 is a pretty good OC and will pull a lot of power from that board. The board might be overheating.

When I had issues with an OC and it was NOT during a stress test or load, it was generally a bad memory module or a setting for memory causing the issue, corrupting data and causing a BSOD or restart. Might be worth looking into if your temps are within acceptable limits.

fx 6100 can be stable at 3.8 ghz without inreasing voltage , soo i think that there will be no need to increase too much voltage , or i am wrong?

That might be the issue right there , you can't always rely on the bios to set the memory up properly. Use Cpu-z and compare the SPD tab to your memory setting on auto.

The SPD tab is what I was looking for it lists the setting for different speeds on your particular ram. Thanks though

that is an entry level motherboard. i doubt it will take the oc for long.

hell it does not even have 8 pin power.

i am guessing your vrms are at a limit; or your vrms sent too much voltage and your chip is dying.

Your board is probably the issue.

For me its my RAM that prevent further tweaking.

In any case here is my info for reference.

Well the reviews don't seem that great for it to begin with. GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3...

Then aside from it, how is your cooling situation. If your board can allow the CPU for higher clocks you are going to need at least as much voltage as I do, in which case you are going to need a decent heatsink coupled with good airflow (a fan or two).

Also use the forum search to find FX overclocking threads, we have quite a bit of threads that may give you aide.
